Position Description

Job description: Contract to provide DOT medical examinations and motor vehicle certification while maintaining records in a professional, small & friendly office environment.

Exams are based on Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requirements and conducted within the MAP Drug Testing clinic, a professional, personable environment offering drug testing, alcohol testing and DOT physicals for commercial businesses in the Washington, DC area.

Hours: Hours of service are flexible (days of the week and/or hours in a day / or paid per physical performed)

Requirements: Must be PA / APN / DO / MD (according to DOT FMCSA regulations)

At least 6 months experience conducting DOT physical examination and appropriate reporting of documents
Be a Certified Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) Medical Examiner
Be registered on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners
Participate in training required by FMCSA and the National Registry (training every 5 years, re-test every 10 year)
Understand fully the medical standards of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) and related guidance.
Maintain National Registry accounts (licenses, training records, etc.)
Transmit at least monthly results of all CMV driver exams performed to FMCSA via the National Registry system.
Work well with others in a professional, office environment
Provide your own computer / laptop
Carry your own Medical Malpractice Insurance.
Follow FMCSA administrative requirements for Medical Examiners to maintain your certification
